We know that God has gifted each of us in unique ways and that serving within that gifting is a key ingredient to living a satisfied and fruitful life. North Avenue has three key focuses at this time, which are represented by the acronym NEW. When you serve, you ENGAGE, which is one of our key focuses. Engaging the Congregation to share our gifts and passions. By serving where your gifting best matches the opportunities at North Avenue, you are right in the center of what God has called us to focus on at this time.
When Do We Know We Have A Spiritual Gift?
When do we know that we have a spiritual gift? It’s when we do something that seems natural to us, we like doing it, and we see results from it. Sometimes, though, God calls us to step out in faith and try something we normally wouldn’t even think of! We encourage you to explore all the different opportunities to serve, knowing that you will be supported and encouraged along the way!
The Gifts Test provides you with an opportunity to identify which of the spiritual gifts make up your profile. Your results are private and designed to be a guide rather than a definitive list. Hospitality Team
Join the Hospitality team for Sunday mornings to provide coffee making and snack set-up for our fellowship time after worship. Serve one Sunday a month with a team as you “set the table” for connection, conversation, and encouragement for those attending North Ave!

Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s Ministry team is passionate about helping shape the spiritual lives of the next generation. We work with kids from infants through 5th grade as Sunday School leaders, Welcome Desk Hosts, Curriculum and Craft Prep, Buddies for special needs students, special events, and more.

Youth, College & Young Adults
Do you have a heart for youth and young adults? Our youth and young adult teams ensures every individual experiences the love of Jesus and belonging when they come to North Avenue. We meet them right where they are at, pointing them to Jesus and supporting them. Join the fun with our Sunday morning and Sunday evening teams for youth ministry or Tuesday evening for young adults.

Worship & Music Ministry Engagement Teams
Gathering for worship on Sunday at North Avenue is a gift for us all. Are you interested in being a part of the experience? Be a part of our music teams, production, and tech teams, behind the scenes administration support, Communion prep, decorating for liturgical seasons and holidays, special events, prayer teams, memorials, weddings, and more!

Do you have a passion for being a part of what God is doing in our neighborhood and world? There are opportunities to connect with our neighbors at Streets Alive and other community events. Join our Local and Global Mission Partners serving children and families, the unhoused community, and higher education students to be a part of the amazing things God is doing EVERYWHERE.

Inreach Teams
At North Avenue, we joyfully love and care for each other in our different seasons of life. You can be a part of this by joining our Prayer Shawl Ministry, Grief Care support, Care and Visitation teams to our members, our meal ministry, and more!

Welcome/Greeting Team
Our team cultivates an environment where anyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed, seen, accepted, and loved. Greet people at our doors, other locations in the church, or hand out worship bulletins in the Narthex.

One Sunday a month from 9:15 am to 10 am/Ongoing.
