Senior Pastor
Rev. Dr. Chris Holmes
Rev. Dr. ChrisHolmes serves as the Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at North Avenue Presbyterian Church. Prior to joining the staff at NAPC, he was the Scholar in Residence and Chief Ministry Officer at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. He holds a PhD in New Testament from Emory University, an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a BA in Religion and Spanish from Whitworth University. Chris is passionate about forming servant leaders, cultivating theologically engaged congregations, and creating spaces where faith and contemporary life meet with intellectual rigor and pastoral sensitivity. He is the author of two books and has taught frequently in Atlanta’s various institutions of theological education. He lives in southeast Atlanta with his spouse, Jenelle, who is also a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Together they have two children, Micah and Darcy, two cats, and a dog. He is an avid Atlanta United fan and enjoys running and riding his bike in and around Atlanta.

Mia Booth is a Master of Divinity candidate at Emory University, where she is committed to exploring the intersections of faith, justice, and community care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Hampton University, where she discovered a passion for writing and a deep interest in education equity. Since then, Mia has centered her work on advocating for those whose voices often go unheard, an effort that has shaped her growing dedication to restorative justice.
Following graduation, Mia intends to pursue nonprofit management with a focus on supporting youth impacted by the school to prison pipeline. Outside of her studies, Mia enjoys traveling, practicing at CorePower Yoga, and spending quality time in her kitchen cooking and baking.
Desta Ethiopian Kitchen is my favorite restaurant! I recommend it because it’s different from typical American cuisine and has menu options that cater to a variety of preferences.
