SUMMARY:A Blue Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, December 22\, 5:45 p.m. in The Overlook. \nRecognizing that not everything is merry and bright\, this service gives an opportunity to bring the hurting places in our lives to God in worship. It’s a time to come together for prayers and laments\, to mourn the losses and griefs of the year\, to let the tears flow for the hurting places in our lives\, as well as for our country and our world. This is a safe and sacred space to share anguish\, to pray for justice and restoration\, even to hope against hope\, through our doubts and tears and fears\, that “God will set all things right all over the earth.”

SUMMARY:Women's Bible Study
DESCRIPTION:Women’s Bible Study King Jesus:\nFulfilling the Law and the Prophets\nA Two-Year Study of the Gospel of Matthew\n\nFrom its very first verse\, the Gospel of Matthew links Jesus to the Hebrew Scriptures\, declaring him to be the Messiah (Christ) and connecting him to David and Abraham. Matthew’s Gospel is permeated by the Old Testament\, containing approximately 50 direct quotations from the books of the Law\, the Prophets\, and the Psalms. In many of these cases\, Matthew states that Jesus in some way fulfilled what was spoken by a particular prophet. In the Sermon on the Mount\, Jesus himself declared\, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” (Matthew 5:17\, ESV)In order to thoroughly study the Gospel of Matthew\, we are spreading it over two years. In 2024-25\, we will study Jesus’ Galilean Ministry (Chapters 1-13) and in 2025-26\, we will read about Jesus’ Journey to Jerusalem (Chapters 14-28). In the first part of the study\, we will learn about Jesus’ origins and the beginning of his ministry. We will study the Sermon on the Mount in depth\, allowing us to ponder over living in Jesus’ kingdom. We will experience Jesus’ power over disease\, nature\, and even demonic forces as we read about three sets of three miracles. We will examine Jesus’ claims and the responses to them. Then we will conclude with seven parables of the kingdom. \nWe will once again hold two separate meeting times:\n• Wednesday Evenings 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. via Zoom\, starting on September 11\n• Thursday Mornings 9:45 – 11:30 a.m. in person at NAPC\, starting on September 12

SUMMARY:The Sphere & Lil Sphere Sunday School
DESCRIPTION:During adult discipleship classes\, the infant to kindergarten young disciples in The Lil Sphere are learning. They partake in fun\, interactive bible lessons tailored to their age range. \n  \nThe Sphere is our Sunday morning program for first grade through fifth grade at the 11:15 a.m. Discipleship hour. During this time\, our first through fifth-grade students will experience a large group time of creative Bible teaching that focuses on understanding and applying God’s word in our relationship with Him and others. This is followed by activities in small groups that build relationships between the children and Jesus\, their peers\, and their leaders and applying God’s word to their lives. We intentionally focus on the faith skills of Hearing (listening to God’s word)\, Praying (having a dialogue with God)\, Talking (articulating our faith)\, and Living (worshipping God with our lives).
