Again, this year we have the opportunity to provide radical hospitality to the mainland Chinese students arriving at Georgia Tech who have come to us for 25 years for support and friendship.
This year as in the past, we will offer airport pickup temporary housing and a big welcoming party at NAPC for the students.
If you would like to be a volunteer, please consider how you might help!
– Shadow Carol to learn logistics and preparations for the work
– Provide bed and breakfast for 1-3 students in your home for 1-5 nights
· Drive your vehicle to the airport to meet and transport one to three students.
· Drive our new 15-passenger bus to pick up a small group of students.
· Serve as a host/greeter for one of the buses.
· Ride on the bus and be an airport greeter and luggage hauler.
· Welcome them back to campus with ready snacks and helps.
– Bring large pot soups or chili for serving students meals after they land.
– Help with the Welcoming Party at North Avenue Church on August 16
Georgia Tech plans to open as usual with classes beginning this year on August 18. That will mean that students will be arriving beginning the first week in August, but most will arrive between the 9th and 16th of August. We will plan a big WELCOME PARTY for Saturday, August 16, at North Avenue Church gym and Broyles Center.
