On Tuesday, March 3, Susan Ross will join The Avenue to share her experiences in capturing Atlanta history through photography. For more than fifty years, Sue Ross has been a photographer, civil rights activist and city administrator, beginning with the election of Mayor Maynard Jackson. In documenting social, political and cultural events, Ross has adopted the name “Photo Griot.” Taken from West African culture, a Griot captures and preserves history through storytelling. Please join us for her talk: “Through the Griot’s Eye.”
